Vintage Japanese Black Lacquer Musical Jewelry Box

Black lacquer Japanese musical jewelry box with hand-painted Mount Fuji landscape and abalone shell inlay accents on the lid and front panels.  Wind-up musical mechanism in the base compartment. Two small front drawers with orange decorative tassels. Multi-tiered storage with swing-out upper compartments. Brass-tone lock hardware on the front. Four small feet at the base.  Blue velvet-style interior lining. Interior lid has a colorful rickshaw and pagoda scene.  Condition: general surface scuffs and light scratches to the lacquer finish throughout. Large chip with wood exposure on the front left corner of the lid (see photo).
