Vintage Johannes Brahm California Art Pottery Green Leaf Basket

Beautiful vintage Johannes Brahm-style California art pottery basket/bowl, dating to the mid-20th century. This striking piece features a rich emerald green glaze with dramatic curled and ruffled leaf edges and an arched sculptural leaf handle. The highly organic botanical form is characteristic of California art pottery of the period and closely resembles documented Johannes Brahm leaf-form pieces. Johannes Brahm produced art pottery and giftware in California during the 1940s–1950s. Measures approximately 8.25 inches across. The basket stands on three small feet and features a recessed circular center. Wonderful as a centerpiece, decorative basket, display piece or addition to a California pottery collection. Condition: Good vintage condition with age-related wear. There are areas of glaze/finish loss on the underside around the feet as shown, along with minor surface marks consistent with age and use. Please review all photos carefully for exact condition. Maker note: No clearly visible maker’s mark was found on the underside, so attribution is based on the form, construction and glaze and is not guaranteed. Part of a large estate sale.
