VTG Handwoven Wood Splint Tall Basket Swing Handle Green Burgundy 15" Folk Art

Charming vintage handwoven wood splint basket featuring a tall rectangular shape and hinged swing handle. Constructed from natural-toned wooden splints with decorative woven bands in muted teal/green, cream and burgundy-purple, giving it a wonderful primitive folk-art/country appearance.  The basket measures approximately 9 tall at the basket body, about 4 x 4½ across the opening, and approximately 15 tall with the handle raised. The bentwood handle is attached with metal rivets and swings for carrying or display. Similar pieces are commonly described as vintage handmade wood-splint baskets.  Bottom has a handwritten marking/initial as shown; maker is unknown/unverified. Displays normal vintage wear, including surface marks, slight discoloration and irregularities to the woven splints.
